Now that another New York Fashion Week has come and gone, it’s time to sift through which trends we are most looking forward to wearing come Fall/Winter 2020 – and which we are going to start with moment now!
Every season, there’s a color that emerges as the star hue. Designers like Carolina Herrera, Christian Siriano, and Brandon Maxwell honed in on earthy green tones – using it in everything from jackets to evening dresses. This is the perfect trend for the color-hesitant, as it can act like a neutral. Try incorporating this spring as an update to your office wear in the form of a blazer or as a sweater with jeans for weekend.

If you’re feeling daring, go for the cutout trend. Khaite, Proenza Schouler, and Eckhaus Latta are just a few of the designers that featured intentionally placed holes in various and unexpected places. You can go the subtle route with this trend, and opt for smaller cut-out updates in your everyday tops and sweaters. Or if you want to add a sexy edge for an upcoming event, you’ll find plenty of cocktail and evening dresses that dare to bare!

Perhaps my favorite of all were the leather looks featured in shows like Coach, Self-Portrait, Claudia Li, and Gabriela Hearst. We saw leather in every shade imaginable and on every garment possible. Designers layered leather-on-leather but if you’re looking for a more wearable route, try letting your leather be the star of your outfit and pair with knits. And the leather trend would look great paired back to green!
